on Beauty…

‘It is beauty that will save the world’ ~ Dostoyevsky

I used to feel love would save the world, and when I came across this quote, it set me to examining about what differs between love and beauty. I have found they are very closely connected.

Love pours effortlessly from most beings in the right circumstances. Even the most hardened individual can easily express compassionate love when met with a young child or animal in distress. It is within ALL of us.

The real beauty comes in the expression of that love and the unique way it flows through the individual being. I believe that when we share what we love with the world, and allow that to become our work, and re~creation, beauty is the result.

So it is not simply love, yet the unselfish sharing of what we each love, molded into our vocation, that creates the beauty.
